Nate played everything himself. Which meant every hour we were tearing down one instrument, setting up another, chasing consistency in an environment we barely knew how to control. Every decision and every shortcut stacked into the final mix. By the end of it, we had something worth releasing. Poolroof’s first project was called First Boy. You can listen to it on all streaming platforms.

That release pulled around a thousand plays on day one with no previous audience behind it. This led to a shift in my philosophy and pre-conceived understanding of production and management of musical artists. It is based around this idea: You don’t need a huge team, you don’t need board rooms, you don’t need a huge budget. Just ideas worth investing in.

I built Poolroof around that idea. Start with the work and see how far you can take it with the people alongside you. Some of the most meaningful work I’ve ever been part of came from small rooms, lack of sleep, limited time, and complete belief in the project.

While working in studio projects, I’ve stepped into show work, stage builds, and audio leadership across festivals, city venues, and large-scale events. Where timing, structure, and execution matter, way before any sound passes through a speaker.

That’s what carries into this work now.
